Beginners

Sandhurst Joggers has always welcomed Beginners of all standards, so you won't feel out of place or unwelcome, and we never leave a runner behind. The group gives advice, support and encouragement, and new members are always welcome.

Sandhusrt Joggers Tuesday night group is aimed at novices and established runners who are coming back from injury. If you are able to run 4-5 miles in around 1 hour then this group will suit you.

If you are just starting out and do not think you can quite manage this then email Serrena or Lisa. They will help to take you from walking to running. The aim of this group will be to allow you to take the first steps into running and help you get fit enough to join the Tuesday evening group. If you currently don't run and want to, then this group could really help to change your life.

If you find the Tuesday group too slow then the club's Monday, Wednesday and Thursday night runs should suit most runners. Please see following Training Link for more information on these and other club sessions.

The information below and on the LINKS on the rights hand column will give you an idea of how to start and continue to enjoy running and keeping fit. Please browse the site and we hope to see you at one of our training sessions or social events.

All runners start out as beginners. For some the transition from jogger to runner is relatively easy, however for others this journey can be long and frustrating. This being said most people who run find that it enhances there life in ways they never thought

As I say to many people who start to run, One of the hardest parts of starting to run is taking those first steps out of the door, its very easy to say I'll do it tomorrow.

The following tips will hopefully help you get the motivation to start.
