Sandhurst Joggers has always welcomed Beginners of all standards, so you won't feel out of place or unwelcome, and we never leave a runner behind. The group gives advice, support and encouragement, and new members are always welcome.
Sandhusrt Joggers Tuesday night group is aimed at novices and established runners who are coming back from injury. If you are able to run 4-5 miles in around 1 hour then this group will suit you.
If you are just starting out and do not think you can quite manage this then email Serrena or Lisa. They will help to take you from walking to running. The aim of this group will be to allow you to take the first steps into running and help you get fit enough to join the Tuesday evening group. If you currently don't run and want to, then this group could really help to change your life.
If you find the Tuesday group too slow then the club's Monday, Wednesday and Thursday night runs should suit most runners. Please see following Training Link for more information on these and other club sessions.

Don't Worry You Can Run
All runners start out as beginners. For some the transition from jogger to runner is relatively easy, however for others this journey can be long and frustrating. This being said most people who run find that it enhances there life in ways they never thought
As I say to many people who start to run, One of the hardest parts of starting to run is taking those first steps out of the door, its very easy to say I'll do it tomorrow.
The following tips will hopefully help you get the motivation to start.

Buy a decent pair of trainers from a professional running retailer that can analyse your running gait and provide you with shoes that match your running style. Trust me, if you run in an old pair of trainers then you will get injuries. UpandRunning in Camberley or Sweathop in Woking are the best in the Area.

At the same time invest in some quality running clothes. These not only make you look good and feel good, they will stop chaffing and move the sweat away from the body. See following Kit Vodcast

Start by following one of the training schedules that are readily available on the Internet. The links on the top right panel will provide you with some of these.

Join a running club - the advice and support that you get will spur you on. You may also meet some friends and companions along the way.

The 10% rule should be adhered to - This is never increase your weekly training by more that 10%.

Set yourself some goals e.g. to run 5k in 6 months or to run for 30minutes, have treat if this goal is met. If not then don't kick yourself, but re asses these goals.
