From Carl Bradshaw
Forms
The club has held in the past a small Triathlon for its members.
This years event will be held on the 14th Aug 2010 at 13:45
This is a fun event and a unique experience that should be tried at least once by every Sandhurst Jogger - just ask anyone that has completed this event how much fun it is (but very demanding at the same time)
This is not a serious event , it is a bit of fun and a chance for all club members to take part and experience what a triathlon is all about.
The event is for Sandhurst Joggers Members who have not competed in many triathlons, and have at least one weak discipline. If you are a serious triathlete and want to compete, Carl will put those people together so they can race together, but they will be excluded from the results as the aim of the race is for everybody to try-a-triathlon in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
The distances involved are very achievable without any training but you need to have basic level of fitness to see you through the different disciplines. The course and distances will remain the same as previous years:
200 Meter SWIM - 10 lengths of Yateley School Pool. You can swim any stroke you like to complete this distance;
10K BIKE - the Yateley 10K Road Race course will be use for this (please remember you cannot take part in this unless you have a helmet);
2-MILE RUN - this will be a mile out and back course.
We need around 20 competitors minimum plus fourteen people to help marshal to make this event work. There will be a limit of 35 people, this event is for club members only, though once I have set a deadline for entries nearer the time, and if I have spaces then it will be opened up to friends and family. There is a entry fee of £5, paid on the day to cover costs of medals etc
If you are interested in competing, please email Carl . or call on 07976 429227
