How much does it cost?

See Entries Page

When do entries open?

Around the 1st March each year

Why are unaffiliated runners charged an extra £2?

Any entrants from unaffiliated clubs or who are unattached to any club are not insured unless they have paid this extra fee. Insurance cover is a condition of entry.

How do I get an EA number

EA membership is £10 per year - this is either paid for by your club as part of your subscriptions, or you may need to arrange as an addition to your club subs. However we would recommend that you speak to your club committee to understand how they arrange for this.

How can I enter?

Online or via post See Entries Page

Is there a minimum age limit?

Yes, 15 on the day of the race.

How is my age category calculated?

Your age category will be determined from your age on the 1st race

The reason for this date is that it eliminates issues where a runner may have a birthday during the series.

Is there a limited number
of entries?

Yes, 1200 per race See also ' Can I enter on the day '

Fun Run has a limit of 200 entrants

Can I amend my entry?

Yes, Please contact Race Director

Do you send me a confirmation of my entry?

Yes, if you have provided an email address

When do you send race packs out?

No race packs are sent out - you can collect your race number and ChampionChip from the Sports Hall on the evening of the race so please arrive in plenty of time.

Can I enter a team?

Yes, but teams names are not recorded

Can I get a discount - OAP/Low income etc?

Yes, if you are aged 15 or 65 and over on the race day

Can I enter a friend?

Yes, See Entries Page

Do you give refunds?

No refunds are available unless the event is cancelled by the organisers, in which case a percentage of your entry fee may be deducted due to upfront expenses incurred by the organisers. (This has never happened).

Having entered, can I defer my entry?

Yes, you can defer to the next race for that year if we have 7 days notice, otherwise no. There are no deferrals for Race 3.

Can I swap entries with a friend?

We understand that some of you will not be able to run and, given the restriction on numbers of entrants each year, may wish to pass your number on to someone else who is able to run.
If you have entered more than one race, you can pass on a number and still run as yourself in the other race(s) if you wish.
We are happy to accommodate this prior to the race. Please download the Number Exchange form (PDF format) and hand it in before the race. If you can't download it, they'll be at the info desk on the night. PLEASE COME EARLY TO DO THIS - DON'T LEAVE IT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE. If, however, someone runs in your number and completely cocks up the results because they're a senior male running in a number allocated to a 74-year-old woman and it suddenly looks like a world record has been set, we will send hurricanes and lightning round to your house. So please don't do that.

Can wheelchair users enter the race?

No. It is hilly with a grass/gravel start and finish, and wheelchair users have had problems in the past negotiating the course.

Are there any free entries/invitations?

Yes, if you are aged 15 or 65 and over on the race day

Are there any elite places?
If so how many?

No

Can I enter on the day?

No. We have a maximum number of 1200 runners - once that is reached we cannot accept any more. The maximum has been pre-set following discussions with the police authority and our insurers. Each race is usually full a few weeks before the race day so we have no need for entries on the day.

Entry to the fun run can be carried out on the day unless the 200 entrant limit is reached.

Where is the race admin desk - what time will it open?

Sports Hall 18:00

What time does registration open to collect my number

Sports Hall 18:00 -

Why are unaffiliated runners charged an extra £2?

Any entrants from unaffiliated clubs or who are unattached to any club are not insured unless they have paid this extra fee. Insurance cover is a condition of entry.

Why is there only one
prize in my age category?

Due to the quantity of entrants in some of the categories, there is no real competition and therefore no further prizes. This is reviewed annually and if the quantity increases then we will introduce prizes.

How do you calculate
Series Prizes?

For each race, entrants are awarded points, from 20 down to 1, within their category. These are added up and after three races the entrants with the best total points in their category win prizes. In the event that the points are tied, the entrant with the better total time over the three races is awarded a prize over those with inferior times. If total points and times are equal, the criterion is which entrant beat the other more often over the three races. If they tie after that, a coin will be tossed to determine the winner.

What happens if I do not collect my T-shirt?

T-shirts that are uncollected are saved until after the Series ends, when the t-shirt will go back on sale. If you contact us prior to that then we can post it to you at your cost - or you can pick it up by arrangement with the Race Director.

What happens if I do not collect my prize?

If you are eligible for a trophy and didn't stay to collect it, we will contact you to arrange delivery or collection. In general we would far prefer that you collect trophies and prizes on the night. Please stay for the presentations if you think yourself eligible. You can check with the Race Announcer to see if you have won a prize.

What's the history of these races?

Yateley, Hampshire, has been home to a mid-week 10K series since around 1987. We believe that the first races were the Yateley half-marathons, held in the summers of 1980-83. After that they became converted to a series of three 10K races, held at 7:30 in the evening on the first Wednesday of June, July and August at Frogmore Campus on a now-defunct course.
Sandhurst Joggers took over responsibility for the organisation of the series in 1992.

Who sponsors the races?

See our Partners page If you wish to sponsor us in the future, please send email to The Sponsorship Secretary. We will give you extensive publicity in our literature, website advertisements and or banners on the race night. We are also open to your sponsorship proposals.

Can I wear an Ipod /Headphones

Due to running on open busy roads and being unable to hear marshals instructions Headphones are not permitted

Wearing headphones may result in you being disqualified

How can I contact you?

If you have any issue or comments we are happy to have your feedback.
The race series has been going from strength to strength over the years and this is partly because we are continually trying to improve on what we do - sometimes we will make mistakes. We value all the runners who participate in the races and value all comments whether good or bad.
