An update on the goings on in the club, celebrating achievements among members over the previous month, promoting upcoming events and keeping members informed on committee news.

First up, on 5th January, we had our first club race of the year. Bracknell Forest runners hosted the next race in the TVXC series at Lightwater Country Park. It was more of a swim than a run but the weather didn’t stop a hardy group of members from turning out to run for the club. The club gazebo putting itself to great use keeping everyone and their belongings sheltered before and after the race.

On 19th January, TVT hosted the next TVXC race at St Neot’s Prep School in Eversley. A 5.6mile course on a mixture of hard and soft trails around the woodland. A nice local race for the club with better weather than a fortnight before and a good turnout to show for it. Well done everyone!

On the same day, Monica and Alurie went a bit further afield for their first event of the year, the Romsey 5 mile race. Well done!

We also had members attend the delayed Jingle Jog 2024 – Sarah says it was a bit strange wearing a Santa hat and singing Christmas songs in January but it was great fun!

Helen’s 250th Parkrun.

Well done to Helen Vizard for completing her 250th Parkrun at Rushmoor on 11th January. Getting out there in -6 to achieve her milestone.

January Challenges.

The end of the month concluded our January challenges to see who would clock up the must miles either walking / running Members joined the challenge through Strava and set themselves their own personal challenge or to try beat friends.

Nick Metcalfe stormed to the top of the leaderboard for the running, clocking up over 244 miles!

Sam Goodall walked her way to the top of the other leaderboard, stepped over 81 miles in the month! Well done everyone that took part.
