Back in August SJ returnee Jon Payne reached a Parkrun milestone as completed his century. As he’s now back in the Sandhurst fold let’s find out a bit more about him and his running…

Q) For members who don’t know you, tell us a bit about yourself?

A) Some members may remember me as I was a Sandhurst jogger between 2008 and 2014. I’ve spent a few years at Windle Valley but it never had the same ‘club’ feel as Sandhurst. It’s been great running with the old gang again!
Q) How and when did you get into running?
A) I took up running when I was at uni, originally to lose a bit of weight, then I started entering races and I haven’t looked back!

Q) What do you enjoy most about being a member of Sandhurst Joggers?
A) My favourite thing about Sandhurst is the friendly faces and the social/relay events.
Q) On which of the weekly runs are we most likely to bump into you?
A) I try and get to intervals on a Tuesday and the handicap is always in the diary!
Q) I see you’ve mainly run at Frimley Lodge, of the other venues you’ve ran at, which is your favourite and why?
A) Lanhydrock parkrun in Cornwall. A very challenging, hilly course but in lovely surroundings.
Q) What other events are on your programme for 2017?
A) Fleet 10k and then the cross countries of course!
