October was a busy month for Handicap with 28 members in action with a number making sure they have a qualifying time for the Club Championships.

It wasn’t a night for fast times and Jon Payne was the only runner to post an improvement with a 10 second reduction of his best time so he took the trophy this month. Alistair Ingall-Tombs was just a second slower than his best enabling him to take second on the night with Martin Steadman following up his PB last month with another solid run to claim third.

Handicap trophy

Well done to the first timers Sam Weller and Alan McPherson. Fastest on the night was Graham Robinson with 24:10. Which also bagged him 4th place points in the Annual competition.

Handicap results October

Current series leader Colin Carpenter had a decent run but failed to add to his points tally in the Annual Handicap competition enabling second placed Andrea Vincent to narrow the lead to just seven points. She is a further seven points ahead of Martin Steadman who is making a late bid for the title and Martin looks to be the danger man with only seven counting rounds to his name and a couple of lower scores to replace.

Handicap series October

Don’t forget the Handicap also counts towards the Club Championship so even if you are too late to join the Annual Handicap Competition make sure you log at least one run to enter into the Champs. The next round will be on Wednesday 14th November.
